Terms of Use

These terms cover your use of this website and the image compression tool on it. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. The service

The site provides a free tool for reducing the file size of JPG, PNG and WebP images. All processing happens in your own browser using your own device. There is no account, no payment and no limit on how many images you compress.

2. Your images stay yours

Because your images are never transmitted to us, we do not receive, licence, store, inspect or claim any rights over them. You keep every right you already had in the images you compress and in the files you produce. Please make sure you have the right to use the images you compress.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the site to:

• process images you do not have the right to use;
• break the law, or infringe anyone’s copyright, privacy or other rights;
• create or edit images for the purpose of deception, impersonation or fraud;
• attack, overload or disrupt the site or its hosting.

4. No warranty

The site and the compression tool are provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

Image compression is inherently a trade-off between size and quality. Lossy formats such as JPG and WebP discard some detail. Reducing the colour count of a PNG changes how it renders. A target file size is a goal, not a guarantee. You are responsible for checking that a compressed result is acceptable for whatever you intend to use it for. Always keep your original file.

5. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site, including loss of data, loss of image quality, corrupted output files, or any loss of profit, revenue or goodwill. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

6. Availability

The site is offered as-is and may be changed, suspended or withdrawn at any time without notice. We do not guarantee that it will always be available or free of errors.

7. Advertising

This version of the site does not display advertising. Advertising may be introduced later and, if so, will be clearly separated from the tool controls. The tool will remain free and unrestricted. Third-party advertising providers operate under their own terms; we are not responsible for advertisement content or linked sites.

8. Third-party hosting

The site is hosted on GitHub Pages. Your use of that service is also subject to the GitHub Terms of Service.

9. Intellectual property

The design, text and source code of this site are protected by copyright. The tool is provided for personal and commercial use. You may read the code and run it yourself; please do not remove attribution from unmodified copies you redistribute.

10. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms, and the “last updated” date above will change when we do. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised terms. These terms are governed by the laws applicable where the site operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
